Physical Appearance (Looks)
- Shape: Most commonly found as a hexagonal (six-sided) tablet with clean, sharp edges.
- Logo: Features a large, embossed “PP” logo on the front, where the two letters are mirrored and face away from each other.
- Reverse Side: Often features a skull design (similar to the Punisher) or a deep score line to allow for splitting.
- Color: While this specific variant is brown or tan, the same “Philipp Plein” press has been found in blue, yellow, and dark red.
Potency & Dosage
- Reported Strength: Lab tests on Philipp Plein tablets have identified extremely high dosages, including batches containing 236 mg and 189.6 mg of MDMA.
- Weight: These tablets are typically heavy, often weighing around 400 mg total to accommodate the high amount of active ingredient.
- Risk: A dose of 236 mg is nearly three times a standard therapeutic or “safe” starting dose (75–80 mg), significantly increasing the risk of serotonin syndrome and life-threatening hyperthermia.
Odor and Taste
- Smell: High-purity MDMA pills like these often have a distinct sweet scent of black licorice, anise, or root beer. This smell is a byproduct of the chemical precursors (such as safrole) used during manufacture.
- Taste: The pill has a very bitter, sharp chemical taste. If crushed, the powder may have a slight “burn” or numbing sensation on the tongue or gums.
